About Marvel Snap

Marvel Snap is Second Dinner's revolutionary digital card battler (developed by former Hearthstone director Ben Brode) that distills CCG strategy into fast-paced 3-minute matches with high-stakes cube betting. Players build 12-card decks and compete for control of 3 random locations (revealed over turns 1-3), with the winner being whoever controls the most locations on turn 6. With over 300 Marvel character cards spanning Series 1 through 5, unique location mechanics that change every game, and the innovative Snap/Retreat betting system, no two matches play the same. The game has won multiple "Mobile Game of the Year" awards since its October 2022 launch.

Core progression: Cards are acquired through the Collection Level track — upgrading card rarity (Common → Uncommon → Rare → Epic → Legendary → Ultra → Infinity) using Credits and Boosters. Series 1-2 cards unlock naturally through early Collection Levels (up to CL 474). Series 3 cards are acquired through Collector's Reserves (CL 500+). Series 4-5 cards rotate through the Token Shop and Spotlight Caches. F2P players complete Series 3 in approximately 4-6 months of daily play. Spotlight Keys (earned every ~120 CL) let you target specific Series 4-5 cards each week.

Why our guides matter: Reaching Infinite rank (the highest competitive tier) isn't about having the most Series 5 cards — it's about understanding snap conditions, retreat discipline, and meta-game awareness. Our guides teach you to identify your deck's win condition by turn 3, recognize opponent archetypes by turn 2, and master the cube economy (retreat from losing positions: lose 1-2 cubes; snap when favored: win 4-8 cubes). We specialize in budget-friendly decks that perform at every collection level — from Series 2 Zoo and Ongoing to Series 3 Sera Control and Destroy, to competitive Series 4-5 archetypes like Arishem and High Evolutionary.

F2P resource tips: Always complete daily missions (450 Credits/day). Save Gold for bundles with Token value. Use Spotlight Keys only on weeks with 2+ unowned cards. Never spend Tokens on Series 4 cards that will eventually drop to Series 3.

F2P Rank Climbing Strategy by Collection Level: CL 1-214 (Pool 1): The most F2P-friendly bracket. Build Kazoo (Ka-Zar + Blue Marvel + 1-costs) or Ongoing Spectrum — both can reach Infinite with good snap discipline. Never spend Credits on Fast Upgrade in the shop (30% penalty). CL 215-474 (Pool 2): Add Killmonger to Kazoo for mirror matches. Build a Destroy deck (Carnage, Deathlok, Bucky Barnes, Wolverine). Learn location priority — filling The Raft early is usually game-winning. CL 475-1000 (early Pool 3): Your first Pool 3 card defines your next deck. If you open Sera → build Sera Control. If you open Destroyer → Ongoing Destroyer. If you open Dracula → Apocalypse Discard. Do NOT spend Collector's Tokens on Series 4/5 yet — save for Series 3 staples (Wong, Mystique, Patriot, Venom). CL 1000+: You should have 1-2 competitive decks. Only use Spotlight Keys on weeks with at least 2 unowned Series 4-5 cards and ideally a new card. Target one meta-relevant Season Pass card per refresh. Join r/MarvelSnap and follow content creators like Cozy Snap, Dekkster, and Snap Judgments for weekly deck guides and meta snapshots.

Current Meta Snapshot (2026): The meta has evolved significantly with Series 6 cards (previously "Series Drop Exempt") entering the ecosystem. Current dominant archetypes at Infinite rank: High Evolutionary Affliction (Cyclops + The Thing + Abomination + Wasp — punishes opponents for playing cards, extremely F2P-friendly as High Evolutionary is the only required Series 5), Hela Tribunal (Invisible Woman + MODOK + Hela + The Living Tribunal — hides combo behind Invisible Woman, resurrects 20+ power on turn 6), and Junk Clog (Green Goblin + Hobgoblin+ Debrii + Viper + Annihilus — fills opponent's board with negative-power cards). Destroy (Deadpool, Venom, Knull, Death) remains the most consistent F2P ladder climber from Series 1 through Infinite. Tech card meta: Shang-Chi is in 42% of decks (destroy all 10+ power cards at a location). Cosmo is the primary counter to Hela and Wong decks. Rogue and Enchantress see increased play against Ongoing-heavy metas. Weekly Spotlight rotation: Check the datamined schedule on r/MarvelSnap before spending Keys — plan 2-3 weeks ahead. Series drops now occur quarterly — wait for cards to drop to Series 3 before spending Tokens. The current season pass card often defines the meta for 4-6 weeks before being rebalanced.

Why Trust Our Guides

Unlike generic gaming wikis, Yulong Guides focuses exclusively on the free-to-play perspective. Every strategy, team composition, and tier ranking we publish has been tested under F2P constraints — no 5-star constellations, no signature weapons, no premium battle passes. We analyze community theorycrafting from Reddit, Discord, and official forums, cross-reference with in-game testing, and update our guides within 48 hours of any major balance patch.

Our team consists of veteran players who have cleared endgame content in every game we cover using exclusively F2P accounts. When we say a 4-star team can clear Abyss Floor 12, it's because we've done it ourselves. When we recommend a budget deck for Infinite rank, we've climbed there with it. No theory without practice — that's our promise.

Regularly Updated — Our guides are refreshed with each content patch. Bookmark this page to stay current with the latest meta. Learn more about our methodology →
