Anime Last Stand Progression Guide 2026: From First Summon to Endgame
This is not a tier list. This is the order of operations — what to do, when to do it, and what mistakes will cost you weeks of progress. If you follow this roadmap exactly, you will reach endgame in roughly 6-8 weeks as F2P. Skip steps and you will hit walls that take longer to climb than the steps would have taken to follow.
Phase 1: The First 24 Hours (Player Level 1-15)
Your first day in Anime Last Stand determines whether the next week is smooth or painful. Most new players make the same two mistakes: they spread resources across too many units, and they spend gems on standard banner pulls. Do neither.
| Step | Action | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Clear Story through Act 2 | Unlocks summoning, daily missions, and the farm mode |
| 2 | Use all free starter summons | You will get 1 guaranteed Epic+ unit. That unit is your carry for Phase 1. |
| 3 | Level your carry to 40 | Do not level any other unit past 20. One strong unit clears more content than five average ones. |
| 4 | Unlock all 6 summon slots | Gems spent here: ~800. This is your highest-ROI gem spend in the entire game. More units on field = exponentially more damage. |
| 5 | Push Story to Act 4 | Unlocks evolution altar, endless mode, and daily raid keys. |
💎 Gem Rule #1: Never spend gems on the standard banner after your first day. Standard banner units are available forever. Limited banner units (Goku MUI, Gojo, Vegeta UE, Ichigo Mugetsu) rotate and may not return for months. Save every gem after day one for limited banners.
Phase 2: Building Your First Carry (Days 2-7, Player Level 15-30)
You now have access to evolution. This is where the game actually begins. An unevolved unit at level 60 is weaker than an evolved unit at level 30. The stat multiplier from evolution ranges from 2.5x to 5x depending on the unit — there is no scenario where delaying evolution is the right call.
Evolution Priority Order
- Your best DPS unit — The carry you have been leveling. If it is evolvable, evolve it immediately. If it is not, check if any of your other units are evolvable and switch your investment to them.
- A farm/economy unit — Units with money-generation abilities. Having one evolved farm unit doubles your income per wave, which means you can afford more unit placements earlier. This snowballs.
- Your second DPS — For maps with multiple lanes or bosses that require element coverage.
| Daily Checklist (Days 2-7) | Time Investment | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Complete all daily missions | 15 min | ~200 gems + evolution fragments |
| Farm Story Act 3 Boss (auto) | 30 min | XP for units + gold + summon tickets |
| Push Endless to wave 15-20 | 10 min | Daily guaranteed reward tier |
| Spend all raid keys (any difficulty) | 10 min | Evolution materials — even low-tier raids drop them |
The trap to avoid: Do not attempt to evolve every unit you own. Evolution materials are gated behind raid drops. You will have enough materials to evolve roughly 2 units per week if you use all your daily keys. Pick your 2 and commit. A half-evolved roster is worse than 2 fully evolved carries and 4 filler units.
Phase 3: Mid-Game Power Spike (Weeks 2-3, Player Level 30-50)
You now have 2-3 evolved units and a functioning team. The mid-game is about specialization: building units for specific modes rather than general-purpose power.
Mode-Specific Goals
| Mode | Target | Required Team | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Story | Clear through Act 8 | 3 evolved DPS + 1 farm | High — unlocks all features |
| Endless | Wave 30+ consistently | 2 long-range DPS + 1 CC unit | High — best XP/gem farm |
| Raids (Normal) | Clear all Normal raids | 4 evolved units, mix of DPS types | Medium — evolution material source |
| PvP | Gold rank or higher | Meta PvP units (speed > damage) | Low — participation rewards only |
⚠️ The Endless Trap: Endless Mode is the best XP farm in the game, but it is also where bad habits form. If you can consistently reach wave 25-30, stop pushing higher and use Endless for farming while you build your Raid team. Spending hours pushing to wave 50 for bragging rights delays your Raid progression by days. Raids unlock evolution materials. Evolution materials unlock stronger units. Stronger units make Endless easier. Farm Endless. Push Raids.
Phase 4: Raid Readiness (Weeks 3-4, Player Level 50-70)
Raids are the skill check. Story Mode can be brute-forced with high-level units. Endless rewards consistent farming. Raids require you to understand team composition, element matchups, ability timing, and map-specific strategies. This is where most players plateau — not because they lack strong units, but because they treat Raids like Story Mode with bigger HP bars.
Raid Team Composition Template
| Slot | Role | Requirements | Example Units |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Primary DPS | Evolved, level 60+, element advantage vs boss | Goku MUI, Vegeta UE |
| 2 | Secondary DPS | Evolved, covers element your primary doesn't | Ichigo Mugetsu, Naruto Baryon |
| 3 | Burst / Finisher | High single-target ability damage for last 30% HP | Vegeta UE (Final Explosion), Luffy G5 |
| 4 | Support / CC | Slows, stuns, or damage buffs for the team | Gojo, Aizen |
| 5 | Farm / Economy | Generates income for placing more units early | Bulma, Speedwagon |
| 6 | Flex | Second support, off-DPS, or map-specific counter | Depends on raid |
The burst unit is non-negotiable for Hard raids. Every raid boss has an enrage phase at 30% HP where its damage output triples. If you cannot burst through that last 30% in under 20 seconds, your team wipes regardless of how well you played the first 70%. This is why Vegeta UE is rated so highly — Final Explosion deletes the enrage phase before it starts.
Phase 5: Endgame Optimization (Week 5+, Player Level 70+)
You have cleared all Normal raids, most Hard raids, and are pushing Endless wave 50+. At this stage, raw unit power matters less than optimization. The difference between a wave 60 player and a wave 80 player is not better units — it is better traits, better placement patterns, and better ability timing.
Endgame Priority List
- Trait optimization — Reroll traits on your top 3 DPS units until you hit S-tier traits (Godly, Celestial, Divine). A unit with Godly trait can output 40% more damage than the same unit with an A-tier trait. This is the single biggest power increase available in endgame.
- Ability level maxing — Each ability level is roughly a 5-8% damage increase. Getting your primary DPS ability to level 10 is worth more than evolving a fifth unit.
- Map-specific placement patterns — Each Endless map has optimal placement spots where a unit covers 2-3 lanes simultaneously. Learn these. A perfectly placed A-tier unit outperforms a poorly placed S-tier unit.
- Element coverage completion — By endgame, you should have at least one fully built unit for each element. Raid Hard modes rotate element weaknesses weekly.
🏆 The Endgame Mindset: Stop asking "which unit is best?" and start asking "which unit solves my current wall?" The answer changes weekly based on raid rotation, limited banner availability, and meta shifts. Endgame is not about having the strongest account. It is about having the most adaptable one.
